The roster list for UFC 2014 is looking great. EA has released some in-game screenshots for the upcoming spring release UFC 2014 game.
EA has taken the reigns away from THQ for the UFC series. By giving the rights to EA to develop the upcoming next-gen version of UFC, it is the best possible direction this game can head. Not selling THQ short at all, but EA has thrown their best at this upcoming game.
The group that has brought us the great boxing games Fight Night will be taking the lead for UFC 2014. Fight Night has given me many blisters over the course of its existence. Creating your own boxer and raising it up to the top ranks was unbelievably fun. Let’s not forget, when having friends over, there were countless hours of bouts of our own custom created boxers. Fight Night was a must buy, and a game that brought hours of fun for all sorts of gamers.
Now, knowing that the EA Fight Night team is behind the upcoming UFC 2014, we’re excited and stoked. Spring is the set date that we should be expecting to see the game released. As usual for EA’s sports games, they always have a fan-vote for the cover. For the first ever EA UFC, we will see two fighters from the Light Heavyweight Division, Jon “Bones” Jones and Sweden’s Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson. I am a little surprised that Gustafsson beat out UFC’s best ever superstar Georges “Rush” St-Pierre.
EA has flexed some muscles displaying some out of the world character models for the upcoming title. The next-gen console graphics are out at full force, and we can’t even explain to you how real looking the fighters are looking.
Here’s the roster list as of right now for the upcoming UFC 2014 game
- Forrest Griffin
- Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung
- Costas Philippou
- Minotauro Nogueira
- Demetrious “ Mighty Mouse” Johnson
- Rashad “Suga” Evans
- Chael “The American Gangster” Sonnen
- Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson
- Georges “Rush” St-Pierre
- Jon “Bones” Jones
As you can see the roster list for UFC 2014 is still fairly pretty small, EA has been releasing them in phases. As we creep closer towards the launch date for UFC 2014, we should be expecting EA to release two more phases of the roster list.
The expected date for the game to launch was Q4 of 2014, but EA surprisingly bumped it up to spring. I’m expecting this game to be released close towards summer, but from what we’ve seen, the game is coming along pretty nicely.
So who else are you expecting to make the roster list for UFC 2014? Let us know who you want to see in the game, and leave us a comment.
